We were driving from Toronto to Ottawa with with two kids and making stops every few hours (Madoc is two hours outside of Ottawa). We hit the ice cream place next door on the way to Ottawa. On the way back we stopped for lunch. Great fried chicken and club house sandwich. Great price.

A huge thank you to Chris and the other gentleman from Smokeys towing! They rescued us from a snowy, hilly, swampy unmaintained road, after CAA and other private towing companies were unable to assist us. Stonehedge Kennel was great! We moved to the area a year ago and liked the looks of their website. Its a family run business and when you go there you can tell. We have four large breed dogs and the runs they are in have lots of space. Very clean and they pay attention to detail. We have been going there every since and the dogs know its home away from home.

Chris recommended a specific paint for the exterior which has extended the life of the wood siding and made the cottage look brand new. We visited on a Wednesday night in early September and should have had reservations. This place is apparently always packed and it's not hard to see why. The food was excellent and the service very good (every one of the wait staff was fully occupied but each one either cleaned away a plate or asked how we were doing as they passed by). Portion sizes were adequate without being overwhelming. The desserts - wow - I *almost* licked my plate! However, my suggestion would be to expand the premises - there were so many people jammed into the small acoustically 'live' space that it was almost impossible to carry on a conversation. Aside from that one detraction I would definitely eat there again but would most definitely make a reservation for one of the outside tables.

Recently we had say goodbye to our elderly dog. It was a heart crushing process. The team at HVH, accommodated our needs which is difficult due to covid restrictions. Afterwards Andrea called us to make sure our family were ok. They sent us a card with our dogs paw prints. We’ve been using Hastings Vet for 8 years. The team have always gone above and beyond. I can’t thank them enough for taking care of our family.
