The Bean Bar is a really good low key restaurant in the Westdale neighbourhood. They provide an extensive menu with a wide variety to choose from at a reasonable price. The food is fantastic and comes in portions that are not overwhelming where you can't finish it - just perfect. I brought my parents here to see what it was like and it exceeded their expectations. I had the ham and maple cranberry wrap and it was terrific. Definitely hit the spot. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxed and mellow which is nice to have conversation. It's a good place for lunch or an early supper. The staff is super friendly so the service is great. If you're ever in Westdale, it's definitely worth checking out. Lire plus

Last weekend we were a party of 21 in the small function room beside the dining room. Our group was all ages from 18 - 80. Everyone ordered something different off of the menu from the sea food platter to the turkey dinner. Food was great; well prepared, hot, service was friendly. We were all very pleased. I go here fairly regularly because this place does it up right. It's not a huge place and gets packed fairly easily, so there have been times when I simply haven't gotten in, but you snooze you lose. It is in an old victorian style home, taking up both floors. Downstairs seats a few tables and the main bar, while upstairs hosts a more casual atmosphere of games, chairs, etc....like you are in someones home. Decor is eclectic and funky, provides a nice touch to the visit. Service is always good to above average, the staff are trained well, know their beers well enough, and are always smiling. I've eaten here too many times to mention, but the wings are great, as is the cajun catfish sandwich. The wings are a great portion and the sauces are excellent. The catfish sandwich is spicy,savoury, very flavourful, well portioned, and well priced. I like that they have Boneshaker on tap on a regular basis. In fact, they only serve craft beer which speaks to the quality of the establishment. Clientele is a mix of somewhat obnoxious college hipsters and hippies that think they are re-living Woodstock for some reason, but I don't have to like them to like the place. Keep up the great work! REALLY EXCELLENT PASTAS! GREAT PIZZA!! REALLY GOOD CALZONE! Waitresses are really attentive and good as well. We Were So Happy to Find a Good Italian Restaurant. Not Fancy, but Good Food. We don't live in Hamilton, but drove there as heard it was a "good restaurant'. Well it was sooo good we went back the Next Friday Nite as Well! Pasta's were very fresh, cooked Al dente, and the Salmon (cream sauce with Salmon) Was EXCELLENT. Salmon super tasty and fresh!! and alot of it in the Pasta!! Ordered 4 cheese Pizza - shared it - it was really good! Ceasar Salads were ok, no compaints. Waitress gave us really good suggestions.. knew the menu well and suggested some popular (and her favourite items). We were impressed. She even was ontop with her wine selections... lol. Young girl, but ontop of her game! Only down side, is it can be a bit noisey. There was a large party at the end of the restaurant - and the kids were loud, as were the adults. No separation from the others... so made dinner conversation a bit challenging. However the second time we went there - no large party - and the sound was fine. What a nice little spot! The food is well prepared and everything on the menu looks appetizing. They have a different fish special every day and it is always very good. This restaurant created a very pleasant and appealing atmosphere. I was pleased with the warm welcoming received upon arrival. The place has been on Locke for years and every visit I have had only the best service. The staff are very accommodating and deal well with any request you may have. The Beasley House has a very warm and comfortable feeling as the dinning area only seats around 30 people. The menu offers a vast array of options and will suit the need of any type of customer. Anywhere from seafood and steak to hamburgers and fries, which is really helpful when dining with a larger, different group of people. The restaurant is especially appealing to me in the summer time as I spend a lot of time on Hamilton's trendy Locke street and the Beasley House is the only one with a patio??!!! I went to Chester's last Saturday and had a great experience! Our server Brenda has been at this location for 32 years I think she said! She was terrific and funny, not to mention that our drinks were NEVER empty! We enquired about the menu and I chose the Philli cheese sandwich which came with fries and house made coleslaw. It was great! The decor is awesome! We half expected the Rat Pack to come out and sing to us. Bathrooms need a reno but every thing else was spotless!
