I'm not a very big fan of seafood, but I was won over by the incessant advertisements for Lobsterfest. Gotta say it was the best dining decision made in a long time. This location was opulently decorated with wood interiors and it mainly had booth seating. After walking past a decorative stack of firewood outside, I was pleased to see a real fireplace inside. After ordering entrees we were surprised to also get salads, potato sides, and these delicious little warm biscuits. The Lobster Trio was fantastic. The tail was meaty and came with plenty of butter, though it was unsalted butter and I had to add salt from the shaker to taste. Garlic shrimp were exceptional. The most remarkable treat was the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese that rounded out the trio. It was so rich and flavourul that I could not finish mine even though by every gastric impulse I had wanted to. Soda pop has to be remarked on, it was rich and sweet the way fountain pop should be. Sheldon was our server, and he did an amazing job. All other staff were friendly and courteous as well, which made it a beyond perfect atmosphere. Lire plus

We started our visit via the internet to get a feel for the restaurant. We were curious to see the prices and any other information we could gather. We found the website to be user friendly and included day and evening menus with prices. We called to inquire about reservations and the hostess that answered was friendly and well informed. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the same hostess that answered the phone and accommodated us with the window seat that we had asked for. Walking in the atmosphere was warm and inviting with an amazing view of the Niagara Falls. Our waitress was pleasant and professional in all aspects of her job. She frequently stopped by to talk with us and ensure that our visit was a pleasant one. Her attention to us did not waiver even as the restaurant got busier. The food was fresh and exceeded all our expectations, right down to the butter. The steaks were prepared exactly the way we ordered them and the baked potato was superb. Overall this restaurant was outstanding, dinner was delicious, view was exquisite, service was amazing and we had a wonderful time. Decided to have dinner with my mom, sistet and 16months old neice as my mom was celebrating her birthday. Server had a poor attitude, was not pleasant nor engaging. All she did was take orders and not even efficiently; she did not even apologise about bring us the wronf order, she never came back to check in as the other servers did with their guests. Green Acres is a family tradition for the last ten years. Each Good Friday and a handful of times throughout the year we travel from Niagara Falls, Ontario to Fort Erie for the sole purpose of eating their fish and chips. Love this place! My husband and I were looking for good fish and chips and we were quite satisfied. I dont really care what the place looks like on the inside as long as it is clean. They have a sign saying the health department has been there and checked the place out and they passed so thats alright in my books. I think some people are a little dramatic on here. Best Caribbean In Brantford I’m a jerk. At least that’s what I’d be if I went with the age old adage, “You are what you eat.” That’s because I just had the pleasure of dining on some of the most fantastic jerk I’ve ever taken a whiff of. It came from Someplace Else. I know, it sounds like a bad joke. It is a real place though, just a short walk from campus down Dalhousie Street (across from the Expositor building.) It is home to some of Brantford’s finest Caribbean cuisine. I decided on testing out the talents of the kitchen staff after reading their take out menu that boasted the best chicken in Brantford. When I walked in the door there was little in the way of a warm welcome. There was no one around! I waited five minutes until I heard movement in the back. I went to the kitchen area to search for some help “Can I get an order of jerk chicken please,” I said. “Ya Mon,” said the perfectly accented Jamaican peeling potatoes. (Of course he said “Ya Mon,” I wouldn’t make that up. ) So my wait began. I sat at the bar and watched Judge Judy. Judy and I spent seven minute together before my jerk was ready. I handed my ten dollar bill in exchange for the bagged Styrofoam box filled with an utterly enticing aroma. The box was coming with me. It’s called take out. I bid the Jamaicans farewell and stepped out into the unseasonably warm October sun. I cantered down the street. Alright, it was more of a trot. I was hungry okay. I found a table at work (I was early) and sat down to enjoy the jerk. I’d prepared myself with water since by definition jerk is muy caliente (that was the definition in my handy Spanish dictionary at least.) As I popped open the polystyrene package, a steamy cloud of jerk aroma wafted to my nostrils, where I took them in. My brain registered, “Yum.” First of all, the colour was phenomenal. Rice with beans, a Jamaican-style coleslaw and a fabulously laid out hunk of perfectly seasoned and browned jerk chicken served up a meal for my eyes. I dug in. My digging couldn’t come fast enough. “Where have you been all my life?” I asked the spicy chicken dish. It didn’t answer, so I ate it. Tender and moist is what comes to mind. More like perfectly tender and absolutely the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had (sorry Mom.) The spiciness ran circles around my tongue, enticing me to take a drink of high quality H20. It wasn’t too spicy though, and the rice and beans and coleslaw served as a perfect balance to the intense flavours of the chicken. I don’t even like coleslaw, but this was different. I endeavoured to eat the entire serving, but it was too much. This is definitely a worthwhile meal for a student trying to make ends meet. Someplace Else offers a fantastic outlet for those inclined to trying and appreciating other nation’s foods. It’s an inexpensive meal packed full of flavor that will make your buds in the tongue department wake up from their grilled-cheese-induced slumber. This is definitely a must have dish at Someplace Else. Lire plus

After reading mixed reveiws for Big Bens, hearing fantastic word around town and finding unbelievable deals in the local news papers. It was time to check it out for myself. Over all I had a great experience. I had a Cesar salad as an app and a beef soup for my boyfriend. The salad was a classic nothing unusual and the soup was perfect, it was thick and hardy. It tasted like my grandmother made it straight out of the garden. I had the one pc basa and chips, it was cooked to perfection! My boyfriend ordered a rare steak and got just that. The whole presentation of his meal came as a surprise. It was beautiful. A good portion of meat, veg and lovely mashed potatoes. Went here recently for a friday night out. Everything was perfect from the minute we walked in , until the minute we left. Our waitress, Maria , was outstanding. It was nice to walk in to a restaurant and be welcomed like family. We always enjoy the warm buns, it gives us something to munch on while waiting for our meal. We ordered the haddock and chips. The meal came out quick and piping hot. It was the best fish and chips we have had in recent memory. To top it off the apple crumble was exceptional.
