I go here all the time with my family. Wa all enjoy the great atmosphere and good service. The food is delicious! My son loves the selection of pastas, and my husband could have an affair with their ribs! Service is fast and efficient, I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes to receive each course. I absolutely love their desserts, their assortment of cakes is mouth-watering, especially the chocolate caramel almond cheesecake. Definitely a Cambridge-must. Lire plus

Love this place! My husband and I were looking for good fish and chips and we were quite satisfied. I dont really care what the place looks like on the inside as long as it is clean. They have a sign saying the health department has been there and checked the place out and they passed so thats alright in my books. I think some people are a little dramatic on here. I thought the portion size was perfect, So did my husband who is a large eater. How much food does one person really need? it is a bit pricey but it's worth it for a treat once in a while! Lire plus

Another delicious meal at Umberto's last night, with great service, a quiet table, and an unpretentious atmosphere. A side note, but important, they hit just the right note with the background music. Smooth jazz at just enough volume to enjoy. It was fairly quiet for a Thursday night, but the other half dozen or so tables were also filled with diners expressing their appreciation for a good meal. Beef carpaccio was, like all the dishes, the perfect size portion. My husband and I shared it well as the bruschetta, which was a little too cheesy for me but perfect for him. The chef salad is a great mix of greens and veg with a nice vinaigrette. The ostrich and kangaroo - what can I say - grilled/sauteed just beautifully and mouthwateringly delicious. The Shiraz reduction was a very nice accompaniment to the kangaroo. Both entrees were served with roasted veg and potatoes, nicely seasoned, as well as a charming little fresh vegetable relish/slaw on radicchio. Shared a bottle of 2009 Rosemount Cab Shiraz, chosen from the small but interesting wine list, proved a good choice. We lingered over tiramisu and flourless chocolate hazelnut cake, preferring the tiramisu. The "Umberto" specialty coffee was a lovely finish to the meal. Ingredients were fresh, attention was paid to presentation, and the service was very attentive yet not intrusive. We will definitely be back. (I will try the seafood pasta next time - 3 of the table of 6 near us ordered it as their favorite) Lire plus

I had a hankering for a fish and chips lunch one weekday and decided to search my GPS's "points of interest" for something local. English Bay came up as the closest place and I sure am glad it did. It's a small cozy feeling restaurant, probably about 12-16 seats, not too busy (11:30am). The service was attentive, and the Haddock fish and chips?... the best I've had to date. Oh yeah, the gravy was unique and also tasted great! I thought the meal was a little pricey but being small and in a plaza, I know that rents can be pretty steep, I guess that kind of justifies it. This place is new and deserves a try.... The food was great! I loved their cheese wontons! Portions are just right.... Their wait staff are still very green but they should improve as they grow. My tip for the wait staff, be more confident, stop apologizing for every little mistake and just be honest to your customers...we'll appreciate it.
