I came to this restaurant for my father's birthday and the food was incredible. It is an authetic portuguese restaurant on James street in Hamilton. For an appetizer we had the Bruchetta, which is baked pizza style bread topped with tomato, onion and garlic. Yumm! For the dish I ate the Filete com arroz, which is fish filete with seafood rice. The dish cost $17 but was really cheap considering the amount of food that was provided. I will definetely return to this restaurant and recommend anyone to try this place. They have a large menu with many options. If you havent tried portuguese food or just love the food, you wont be disappointed at the Wild Orchid. Lire plus

I was wary to visit this place from the previous reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! They've done renovations as well as changed their menu. It has been for the better! Our server, George, although new to the restaurant (starting one week prior) was very knowledgeable. I ask as many questions as possible, and I'm glad he could answer most, others he would go to the kitchen to ask any he did not know. One important question was where they source their beef, I was told it is all Ontario beef which pleased me. The Beef Carpaccio was nice, as well as the Beef Wellington. Not the most traditional way to create the dish, but it was still tasty. The pork was nice, although the apple-bacon compote may have been a bit over-the-top on bacon. The Lamb chop was crusted nicely and was done VERY evenly. The dessert was something else. Homemade marshmallows, homemade graham cookies, caramel sauce, and milk chocolate sauce. The marshmallows were on sticks and you have your own campfire that comes along with it. Very novel, very exciting, and the smell of the fire was very close to a campfire. All in all, a good visit. The only reason I left a 5 star review was to the service we received. My steak was not cooked properly plus even they cooked it more from raw, the steak was bland, no flavor at all. I ended up loosing my appetite. The one thing that impressed me was our waitress. She tried her best and the manager told her that our bill was covered including our drinks. This shows me that the management supported their customers. I am a Keg person that in the past had little issues but it happens. Busy place. Lire plus

We ate here last night with 2 3yr olds. They ordered kid burgers and kid chicken fingers. Our server brought out an appetizer plate for them with strawberries, orange slices, veggies and dip. Awesome! They devoured it. Thank you for thinking of our health! Lire plus

I've always used going to this place as an excuse for free parking aha, so we decided to stop by! The food was average because i could make chicken fingers and pasta at home way cheaper and way more flavorful! Its just an average place with normal average food for a decently high price. I knew that its just a tourist restaurant so it didnt really bother me. the dessert was good but still pretty average. The best part is the seating and the view you get. I enjoy people watching. also the server was nice and very friendly! its not gourmet but if you want average food before going out on the town, i'd say its not too bad! Lire plus
