I have taken my 8 year old daughter there on several occasions for supper. Every time we eat well, are treated well and get to relax and actually enjoy each others company. I love how the staff makes my daughter feel special by remembering her, using her name, actually talking to her and listening to her answers. On top of all that the food is delicious and affordable. It is one of Guelphs hidden gems.

Our server, Megan, was so great! She made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Food was great, but she made our meal. She explained all the covid procedures and was smiling and laughing behind her mask the whole time. That has gotta be tough on all the staff. So appreciated!

Typical chain resto.. but looks like they have a format that works! They still hire the typical kids to run the place, but they have a plan in place to help ensure the customers' satisfaction. They do everything they can now, to ensure everything is in the bag before you leave the takeout window, and the food is quite good, for what it is too!
One time recently, there was something missing, I called, and the manager on duty took care of me appropriately.

awesome like always.....i wish some other brantford restaurants were as good as this place....they seated us quickly,took our orders within 5-10 min....we ordered filet mignon and was cooked and tasted perfect.....

Our order took an hour to reach us but it was peak time on a Saturday night. The food and service was top notch and the complimentary Birthday treat was lovely. The staff member who Pursued us to the parking lot with our forgotten bottle of wine was over and above and appreciated. This is why we keep coming back.

I am a local. Truthfully, we havn't eaten at the Bruce in over 6 years. We just didn't like the atmosphere inside for our family. Recently, I heard from a friend that it's improved greatly. So, we decided to give it another try.
Our family went for wing night. We LOVED IT! Wings are big, plump & juicy. The saucy ones (medium & hot) weren't over sauced-just right. The dry rub ones (cajun rub) were delicious! Our daughter ordered chicken fingers & fries. They were not processed chicken fingers; but the real deal-always love to see that. The fries are awesome-FRESH CUT!! Our son ordered the mini burgers & chips. They were yummy! You can't beat homemade burgers.
My only complaint (reason for 4 stars) would be that the waitress could've been a little more attentive. She didn't smile much and at times we wondered if she forgot about us. That being said, it didn't spoil the meal by any means.
We all agreed that we'll be back. Can't wait to go back for kids eat free Sunday. It was so much better than going to our "chain" restaurants. This was all freshly made & delicious. We're so glad we gave the Bruce another try, this is our new favorite supper spot in town.

Christien's restaurant was a very fun experience. The food and service were both better then expected for the volume of customers there on a friday night (may 25). We made reservation and got exactly what we asked for. Service was prompt and startes made it the table less then 15 minutes after ordering. Everyones food was well cooked and brought out all at the same time.

There's a reason this location won best Swiss Chalet of the year in Canada. The renovations, and the food and from what the sever told me newer management. You will not be disappointed. I visited Swiss Chalet with low expectations. My four year old son was excited about the toys they offered so we went for a quick dinner. I was pleasently surprised. We sat with a young waitress who I unfortunatly also held low expectations for. At such a young age I doubted that she knew much...however she provided us with better service than we had recieved in a chain..maybe ever. She brought our meals promptly, was attentive, we didnt need to ask for refills, and when my son spilt on himself, she cleaned it all up and even stopped his crying. The food wasn't great, but as long as you have service like that, I would be back anytime.
